The entire day had felt like such a blur I hadn’t had much of a chance to get my bearings.  I’d been up until one the night before, and I was awake by five.

I was running on very limited sleep and had little time to think about the fact that we’d be touring colleges for the next 18 days.  Luckily, we found a little spot in downtown Ft. Worth called Fred’s Texas Cafe to stop and grab lunch.  I got the Diablo Burger, and Courageous on the Diablo chicken sandwich.  It was cooked perfectly, and not too spicy.  I faced away from Courageous most of the meal, people-watching the diners in the small Texas cafe, feeling the warm breeze roll through the door.

This was a great opportunity to get my head straight, and wrap my mind around the fact that I’d be on the road for eight straight hours and away from home for eighteen straight days.
