Morning came early once more.  We were slated for an 11am show in Natchitoches, LA at Northwestern State University.  It was one of the big name colleges we were getting to perform at, so it was pretty exciting.  Natchitoches is a small town with a weird name.  Pronounced Naccadish, this town had a few restaurants and a small grocery store, and an apparent appetite for meat pies.  When people in town wanted to live it up, they went to Shreveport/Bossier.

NSU was a small and secure campus.  We wanted to walk around and see campus but it was pouring rain again.  We sat in our “green room” and prepared for our set.  We could hear students doing lunch time Karaoke on the stage we were about to perform on. They were loud enough to hear all the way back in our room, and we were relatively far away.  NSU has a great campus activities board, so we knew we were in good hands with high energy students.

The show was great, with high energy.  Afterwards, the student activities students got together and shot a short video for our Instagram page.  “NSU loves I.N.K.” they shouted.  Cool stuff!

We chatted in their activities office briefly before going to a local dive for lunch.  It was just what we needed, as we hadn’t eaten in nearly 24 hours.

We drove back to Bossier and took a much needed nap.  Mine was an hour.  Courageous slept for over 3 hours.  I went down to the lobby and worked on some things.  Courageous woke up and met me in the lobby and we hit up the casino.

We aren’t much into gambling, but when there is a casino nearby, we tend to go to them.  It’s a fun place to people watch, and bright lights are fun.  We walked through and looked at the games and people and went and grabbed some dinner.  Courageous got a turkey burger with a deep fried patty, I got a grilled cheese.

Courageous needed some convincing, but eventually I convinced him we should go to the casino and spend ten bucks.

I went to the $5 slots at first because I was feeling lucky.  I lost $5, then won $10.  I quit and moved to another machine because I was was up!  Courageous would wave his hand near the machines to determine which ones were “hot”.  I sat down at a quarter slots machine and found myself up to 20 dollars.  I felt like the machine had given all it was going to give and I moved on to another one near the front of the casino.

I quickly started hemorrhaging money.  I got back down to $15 bucks.  I told Courageous this was my last spin and did the max bet.  I won $130 dollars!  We cashed out and went back to the room for some celebration cake.  It was a great cap to a great day.
